‘Periyar’ parties’ ipso facto rejection of EVR
LTTE Prabakaran replacing ‘Periyar’ E.V.R in Tamilnadu?
During the 50th
anniversary of Thuglak programme, Rajni cited the 1971 Salem DK anti-Hindu Gods
procession related Thuglak ban by then CM Karunanidhi, as the boost for Thuglak
circulation. The violent criticisms opposing Rajni & foiled bomb attack on
Thuglak editor Gurumurthy implied ‘Periyar’ parties’ ipso facto rejection of
EVR who till his death did not meet criticism with violence. Any doubt? Read

Communist leader D.Raja had
similar experience when he criticized Thuglak in front of Cho on the stage, as
shown in the following link.
Both E.V.R and Thuglak encouraged
criticisms on their stage. If ‘Periyar’ parties resorted to violence and
agitation to meet the criticisms, will it not mean ‘Periyar’ parties’ ipso
facto rejection of EVR.
The social disease of meeting
the criticism with killing was introduced by LTTE Prabakaran. Those who
criticized him both within LTTE as well as outside from different Elam groups,
were brutally killed. Many TULF leaders including Amirthalingam, TELO, PLOT,
EPRLF, etc leaders and trained militants in those groups were killed. An objective
assessment of the killing of Elam liberation leaders and their trained cadres,
may rank Prabakaran above Rajapaksa. Now ‘Periyar’ parties seemed to be
infected with that social disease.
Interestingly, some pro-LTTE
parties in TN had started criticizing E.V.R.
Unlike E.V.R’s ‘Periyar image balloon’, Prabakaran’s ‘mAveeran image balloon’
can easily be pricked by criticism to burst it. Even to counter pro-LTTE
parties’ criticism of E.V.R, ‘Periyar parties’ fail to criticize Prabakaran,
suggesting their servile to Prabakaran, and misusing ‘Periyar’ as a mask to fool
TN. Late E.V.R’s
welcoming criticisms, and EVR’s yardstick for public life, would be

Hence, after relinquishing
E.V.R’s stand on violence to support LTTE, E.V.R was misused as a mask by the ‘Periyar’
parties; draining the goodwill for E.V.R among the public to encourage the anti-EVR
chauvinists both in pro & anti Hindutva circles.

During 1980s, when then PM
Indira Gandhi started encouraging Elam separatist groups to serve her selfish
political interests, LTTE was trailing behind TELO (supported by DMK), PLOTE
(supported by a section of DK). The present ‘Periyar’ parties’ leaders were
aware of my role in strengthening LTTE to overtake TELO & PLOTE. During those
periods, I was in the circle of Anton Balasingham, Professors Nirmala &
Nithiyanandam. When the journalist Anita Pratap (if my memory is right) wanted
to interview Prabakaran, she was told that she had to submit her questions and
answers would be delivered to her. All the answers were written by Balasingham,
and the interview was published with world wide attention, serving as the first
boost to building Prabakaran’s image balloon. In my view, of all the LTTE
leaders I had met, Prabakaran was the least intelligent, who could not even
understand the answers in that interview. As Prabakaran started exhibiting megalomaniac
tendencies, Nirmala & Nithiyanandam discussed it with Balasingham in my
presence. As Balasingham was suggesting patience to handle Prabaharan, Nirmala
exclaimed “Is he a baby to handle?”. Later Nirmala, Nithiyanandam and Raghavan,
one of the founder leaders of LTTE, left LTTE, and I started distancing myself
from LTTE.
In fact, such unhappy
experiences forced me to quit my public life and divert to music research. To
my surprise, my research applying ‘Physics of Music’ to the ancient Tamil
texts, revealed how E.V.R was wrong on the ancient Tamil texts, and how he
contributed to a complex psychological Tamil Identity distortion related social

As a result, E.V.R had become a victim during the 1965 anti-Hindi agitation and later becoming a ‘Periyar mask’ for the
‘Periyar’ parties worshipping Prabakaran; to silence those opposing them with

Commenting on the 2009
election results after the mullivaikkal tragedy;

LTTE supporter Vaiko who
praised Prabakaran as ‘mAveeran (great hero)’, after the death of Jayalalitha,
hailed Sasikala as ‘veera mangai vElu nAchchiyAr (famous freedom fighter Tamil king
vElu nAchchiyAr)’. With the support of pro-LTTE, pro-EVR, & anti-Hindutva
leaders, Sasikala surrendered to Dr. Subramanian Swamy to become the CM of TN,
unmindful of Dr.S.S calling LTTE as ‘Elis (rats)’ and 'chauvinist' Tamils as ‘porki’.

Periyar EVR, probably due to
his lack of education, could not understand the multidimensional value of the
Indian ‘purAnAs’ (religious stories), like many western writers ignorant of it,

I doubt if ‘Periyar’ parties’
leaders have the moral courage and the intellectual strength of justifying EVR

LTTE Prabakaran seems to be
replacing ‘Periyar’ E.V.R in Tamilnadu, fooling few of the mostly first
generation educated youth by ‘affluent’ leaders with no transparency and accountability
with respect to the financial sources for such anti-India activities.
‘Those making ‘loud
anti-Brahmin & anti-Hindutva’ noises in Tamilnadu, can be categorized into
two groups; one leading upper middle class & affluent life, and other
mostly semi-literate leading lower middle class mostly from the poor families
in the villages or slums in the city.
Unfortunately, the latter
category could not probe, who all in the former category were the beneficiaries
of foreign donors like Oxfam, Ford foundation, etc or linked to the ‘corrupt’
political leaders in India.’
Starting from 1965 all the
suicides adored by the Dravida/Tamil parties till the recent suicides of
chenkodi, Anita, innumerable suicides had taken place; none of them belonging
to the families of Dravida/Tamil parties; without exception, almost all belonged
to the poor families, mostly first generation educated.

Time has come for a serious probe to verify if
the absence of serious scholarly challenges to Periyar EVR, after the Birth of
DK in 1944, had caused an unique social mechanism enabling lumpen
elements to rise up in the social ladder to become wealthy and powerful under
the garb of ‘anti-Brahmin Tamil
sentiments’. Also, the probe shall include the role of the negative emotions in
fooling the otherwise well-educated persons to encourage the above ‘lumpen elements.
If the followers of Periyar
EVR & ‘anti-Hindu’ pro-Western intellectuals could come out of their mental
prison, and wake up to the new findings, all antagonistic divisions, encouraged
by the foreign funded NGOs, will vanish.
